Google's Chrome App Launcher Runs Chrome Apps from the Windows Taskbar
Windows: Google has finished putting its final touches on the Chrome App Launcher, previously available as a developer preview. Now you can instantly launch your favorite webapps (Gmail, Google Drive, and Chrome apps) from your desktop, even if your browser isn't open.
It's similar to the default start page of Chrome, except there are a few handy features. In the right-click settings, you can choose to open an app as a regular tab, pinned tab, a new window, or a maximized window. You'll also be able to easily create desktop shortcuts or pin individual apps to the taskbar, for even quicker launching.
OS X and Linux versions are in the works, but Windows users can try it out today with one single click in the link below.
