Smart Answers to Stupid Interview Questions

A job interview is a weird experience. Sometimes you to go a job interview and meet wonderful, sparky people you could talk with for hours. Other times you show up and your first thought is "I wouldn't work in this toxic waste dump for ten million dollars."
The traditional interview format is a big part of the problem. Somebody came up with the standard, lame interview script sixty or seventy years ago and it's still going strong.
The standard interview script is brainless and insulting and it doesn't even do a good job of separating the best candidates from the worst ones. Still, people who are afraid to try new things don't dare deviate from it.
You know the script I'm talking about. It's the one with these three stupid interview questions in it:
  • What's your greatest weakness?
  • With all the talented candidates, why should we hire you?
  • Where do you see yourself in five years?
It isn't the interviewer's fault that they ask such thoughtless and uncreative questions. Somebody told them to. I wouldn't count out an entire organization just because somebody uses some of these dog interview questions, but if everybody in the joint is stuck in the same sixty-year-old interview-script time warp, you may want to keep looking.
As a manager, you don't have to ask the standard, stupid job interview questions when you interview candidates.
As a job-seeker, you get to decide how to answer stupid job interview questions when they come up. You can go the good-little-sheepie route and give the standard answer, like this:
THEM: With all the talented candidates, why should we hire you?
YOU: Well, I'm hard-working and I've got a lot of experience, I'm loyal and thrifty and never come late to work, and besides that I walk old ladies across the street.
People tell us all the time "I went to the interview and the words that came out of my own mouth horrified me. I felt like a brown-noser and a suckup. I don't talk that way in real life. I fell into the script and I couldn't climb out!"
We've all been there. You're likely to fall into the good-little-sheepie job seeker script by accident if you don't prepare yourself in advance. You can get off the script and stay human in a job interview, and you'll be happy if you do.
For starters, if you shake up the script and give your interviewer an answer s/he wasn't expecting, you'll force him or her to think. That's good. You'll be more memorable that way, and if the interviewer is horrified that you'd step out of the box, what does that tell you?
It tells you that you don't want that job anyway.
Here are our three stupid interview questions and a choice of two answers for each one. The first answer is the standard sheepie answer, and the second one is for use when your mojo is high and you feel like busting a frame and growing your muscles a little.

Stupid Interview Question: "What's your greatest weakness?"

SHEEPIE ANSWER: "I'm a hard worker, and I can be too hard on myself and other people when I think that either me or somebody else could give a little more to a project."
HIGH-MOJO ANSWER: "I used to obsess about my weaknesses. I used to think I had a million defects that needed correcting, and I read books and took classes to try to improve on them.
Gradually I learned that it makes no sense for me to work on things that I'm not great at, and it makes no sense for me to think of myself as having weaknesses. These days I focus on getting better at things I'm already good at -- graphic design, especially."

Stupid Interview Question: "With all the talented candidates, why should we hire you?"

SHEEPIE ANSWER: "I've been working in this arena for sixteen years and I've got a great track record."
HIGH-MOJO ANSWER: "That's what we're here to figure out, I guess! I can't say that you should hire me.
There might be somebody else who's perfect for the job - you've met the other candidates or will meet them, and of course you know more about the needs here than I do.
I can say this - if this match is meant to be, both of us will know it."

Stupid Interview Question: "Where do you see yourself in five years?"

SHEEPIE ANSWER: "Working hard here or in another Financial Analyst role, with luck moving up to Senior Financial Analyst and being more involved in strategic investments than I've been so far."
HIGH-MOJO ANSWER: "Exploring one of my passions, undoubtedly -- maybe in Finance, or my interest in ecommerce or in an international role. I have a lot of passions!"
You get to decide how far to turn the mojo dial in every interview. You already know how it feels to sit in the chair and play the Good Little Job Seeker. What would happen if you stepped out of the box on your next job interview, and played yourself?

How to Make bootable USB of Windows 7/8 using CMD

Windows labeled USB showing bootable property: Intelligent Computing

Making Windows7 or Windows 8 installation from your USB device is really too economic and easy just need to make it bootable by using Command prompt and ISO image of the Disk. Let see how to do that

It’s often very hectic to copy the entire DVD of windows 7 as ISO and buying a new DVD and then write the DVD to make the copy of Windows 7 bootable disk. Especially when one of your DVD is about to get scratch and again and again you are doing the same. Now a day everyone of us must having the USB flash drive of generally 2,4,8,16 GB. So here you can learn how to boot your computer from USB flash drive of minimum 4 GB.

Don’t worry i am not going to give you download link of any application that may or may not work with all type of ISO, as i also faced such problem. You can make the windows 7 bootable from just few commands in the command prompt only. All you need is the ISO or all the files or copy of DVD of windows 7 and Administrator right in your system.

Make bootable USB of Windows 7 by Command prompt (CMD)

I have assumed you have and DVD of windows 7 in your tray and a 4 GB Pen drive in one of your USB port. Backup all your pen drive data because it’s going to format :p

Insert your Pen drive and press the start button.

Type cmd and right click on it and start this with administrator right.

Now on the command prompt, type the following commands

Diskpart

List disk
// List disk command will generate the list of Disk connected to your computer like Hard disk and USB disk. This will be like in figure.
After this

select disk 1
// in my case USB is as disk 1

create partition primary
active

format fs=ntfs quick //
Format Filesystem=NTFS quick(don’t use Quick for deep format, just use format fs=ntfs)

assign

exit

After this your USB drive is ready to boot any computer just another step requires.
After this, copy all the content of DVD or Windows 7 ISO extract to USB drive.
Done?

Now open the command prompt again by typing CMD in run (See more shortcuts)
Now type

O:      //o: is the path of usb drive, change it as according
Cd o:/boot

Now proceed as
Type
Bootsect /nt60 o:

And Hit the final Enter and you are ready.

Making bootable USB of Windows 8 using CMD

You can do all the same step there in windows 7 for making a bootable Windows 8 USB. Just use the all files of Windows 8.
Similarly in %usbroot%/Boot
And run the CMD as administrator and similarly select the same directory as in windows 7
i.e. I:/boot/ and type same command in CMD
Type bootsect /nt60 I:       //I is your USB drive
And done
Just reboot your computer, enter in BIOS setup and select boot device priority as
* USB
* DVD
* HDD
* Network (Other)
And Tap [F10] to save and Exit.
Again Reboot your system and see setup has been started.

But if you unlock that modem, then you can use that modem with any network providers’ SIM card like Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Etisalat, Tata DoCoMo, Aircel, Airtel, China Mobile, América Móvil, Telefónica, Orange, VimpelCom Ltd., MTN Group, Axiata Group Berhad, China Unicom, TeliaSonera, Telenor, Saudi Telecom Company, Tele2, T-Mobile, Idea Cellular, Verizon Wireless, MTS, AT&T Mobility, China Telecom, Telkomsel, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), BSNL, PLDT, Maxis Communications, Turkcell, MegaFon, Qtel etc…

Some modem will ask two unlock codes like RCK and NCK codes to unlock.

Example: Unlock Alcatel STC X230l modem:

Unlock alcatel net setter modem using rck nck code

Here you need only unlock code to unlock. Using IMEI number (check on back side of your modem), you can generate unlock code.
Ø Go to this site:  www.jictechnology.co.uk/calculator (copy - paste to your browser's address bar)
    Ø Enter IMEI
Ø  Select service as Alcatel Modem.

Google finishes 2,048-bit security upgrade for Web privacy Prodded by "concerns about overbroad government surveillance," Google beat an end-of-year deadline to retire Web certificates with less secure 1,024-bit encryption

Never again are you going to get a Google Web site whose security certificate is protected with comparatively weak 1,024-bit encryption.
The Net giant has secured all its certificates with 2,048-bit RSA encryption keys or better, Google security engineer Dan Dulay said in a blog post Monday. Certificates are used to set up encrypted communications between a Web server and Web browser.
That means two things. First, traffic will be harder to decrypt since 1,024-bit keys aren't in use at Google anymore. Second, retiring the 1,024-bit keys means the computing industry can retire the technology altogether by declaring such keys untrustworthy.

Google has been aggressively moving to stronger encryption because of U.S. government surveillance by the National Security Agency. According to documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, the agency gathered bulk data off Internet taps, including unencrypted data sent between company data centers on its own network, and actively worked to undermine encryption.
Google said it beat its internal end-of-year deadline for the 2,048-bit move. It's also moved to encrypt its internal data transfer between data centers, a move that Yahoo also is making.
In other words, the Net's technology giants are working actively to make surveillance, authorized or not, significantly harder.
"Worry in Silicon Valley/Puget Sound: furor over NSA will cost billions cuz foreign customers fear US companies can't guarantee security," tweeted Strobe Talbott, president of analyst firm Brookings Institution, referring to the geographic regions where tech powers such as Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Microsoft, Twitter, Apple, LinkedIn, and Amazon are located.
There's a lot of work to be done yet, though. Google also supports a standard called "forward secrecy," which uses different keys for different sessions so that decrypting a single message doesn't mean previous messages can likewise be decrypted using the same key. But many other Net giants don't support forward secrecy
